I like to challenge young people to be more aware of the issues that affect them and using appriopriate advocacy skills to seek a change in policies, culture and traditions that help perpetuate these issues. I am extremely passionate about Indigenous issues, and all facets of Indigenous struggles. I have worked in Treaty Land Entitlement and Specific Lands claims, which allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge of the legal systems for First Nation land claims in Canada. However, this was not the beginning of my introduction to Indigenous politics. I grew up in a home that was surrounded and occupied with people heavily involved in Indigenous politics.
